(Sunday, August 28) We have entered the month of SAFER. Blessed be insha’Allah.*
Let’s read the article below. Because a lot of people keep sending false information to each other. Correct Information is as follows.
The month of Safar was known as the unlucky month by the Arabs of Jahiliyya and performing Umrah in this month was considered a major sin. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
“Umrah is always halal!” (Bukhari, Hajj, H. No:777)
He broke the bad luck belief attributed to this month.
But unfortunately; We see that the beliefs that marriages signed in this month will not last long, that the activities carried out in this month will be fruitless, and that the works started in this month will end in bad luck are among the superstitions that have continued to exist among the people since the Arabs of Jahiliyya.
In the narration of Abu Huraira (Radiallahu Anh), the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
“I do not have a stone (do not consider it unlucky, do not abuse it) in Islam; The best one is tefa’ül (do not tire for the good).” (Bukhari, Tıb, 54)
Thus, he stated that this harmful understanding is not found in Islam.
In another hadith, he said:
“There is no bad luck in things, there is no bad luck in the month of Safar, there is no bad luck in the hooting of an owl.” (Muslim, Salam, 102)
